About Nick’s Fight to be Healed

The mission of Nick’s Fight to be Healed Foundation is to support pediatric cancer patients as well as serve the young adult cancer community. We support patients being treated at the Melodies Center at The Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY and Golisano’s Children’s Hospital in Rochester, NY.

This foundation was formed in honor of Nick Cammarata, a 13-year-old teen who was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on July 4, 2008. For four months, Nick struggled to obtain remission so he could have a bone marrow transplant, which was his best chance for survival. He went into remission on October 18, 2008. On October 26, 2008 Nick lost his valiant fight with cancer, but his spirit and love guides us each day.
