Where There’s Hope

A group of volunteers from Nick’s Round Table and I volunteered this past weekend at the Hope Club’s Autumnfest. The teens painted faces and served food and drink to over 300 participants.

The event was open to the community and kids were dressed in their costumes as they ventured into the haunted house or played games. The teens didn’t know what each family’s situation was-battling cancer, remission, or supporting another family.

There could have been many reasons, but what everyone was looking for in addition to some fun and distractions was hope. I’m very proud of the teen volunteers. They showed compassion, flexibility, patience, and truly cared that everyone was happy. They went out of their way to make it happen

Healing kids by having fun and giving hope by reaching out. That’s what Nick’s Round Table is all about.

Thanks for all you do!
